Henry David Thoreau was born in 1817 and died aged 44. He was an American author and poet and a passionate naturalist. He is considered to be one of the leading transcendentalist's and perhaps his most famous work is the book "Walden" which is a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings. His works still impact people today.
