Many of us want a peaceful life and to be able to enjoy the present moment but we seem unable to do that as we are forever making future plans so we feel secure, or chasing that next promotion so we finally have enough money to live the life that we want to live. Lennon doesn’t say we shouldn’t make plans, far from it, but that the true experience of being alive is beyond those plans, and “happens” to us.

ABOUT JOHN LENNON

John Lennon was born in 1940 and died at the tragically young age of 40. He shot to fame as the co-founder of the band "The Beatles" who are widely considered commerically to be the most successful band of all time. Lennon, born in Liverpool, not only enjoyed huge success with the band but also as a solo artist penning huge hits such as "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance." Lennon, who married Yoko Ono in 1969, was tragically murdered in 1980. His acerbic wit and efforts to move humanity forward are as fondly remembered as his songs and he was a truly great Briton - even featuring in a BBC Poll of the top 100 Briton's.
