ABOUT MOTHER TERESA

Mother Teresa was born in 1910 and died aged 87. She was born in Macedonia and was an Albanian Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary. She was hugely admired for her charitable works but also criticsed for her pro-life views, and the conditions in the hospices for which she was responsible. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and in 2015 a second miracle was credited to her by the then Pope. This meant that she could be recognised as a Saint by the Roman Catholic Church.
